67% Say They Could Do A Better Job On The Economy Than Congress, and 44% believe that “a group of people selected at random from the phone book would do a better job addressing the nation’s problems than the current Congress”, according to the latest Rasmussen poll.   I suppose you can make polls say whatever you want them to say, but those numbers don’t look like a vote of confidence in the stimulus / porkulus bill.

Another Rasmussen poll: 62% Want Stimulus Plan to Have More Tax Cuts, Less Spending.

It’s clear to me which side the American people support in the stimulus battle.

Oh I get it now. After 4 solid years of gutter approval ratings for their president, ratings the GOP put aside as media hysteria and inaccurate, polls have once again returned as a proper measurement tool.

    So polls it is.

Looks like to me the American people do support the stimulus bill.

    Latest CNN/Opinion poll: 54% approve
64% say the bill will offer “a lot to some” relief to the economy.

Gallup: 80% believe it’s critically important to important in passing the bill.

I could keep going but all you need to do is look down the list of polls and see the stimulus bill does have support amongst the American people.

If we’re talking about things being unpopular, there’s nothing more unpopular amongst the American people than the Republican Party. Or if we’re talking about what side people are on, it’s definitely not the side of the GOP.
